What do you enjoy most about being a junior research group leader?
Dr. Brita Sedlmayr: "As a junior research group leader, I particularly enjoy supporting the scientists in the group, observing their development and constantly learning and growing personally in the role of junior research group leader."
What specific research interest motivated you to become part of a junior research group?
Ian-C. Jung: "I was fascinated by the combination of clinical decision support systems with a focus on user-centred human-machine interaction."
How would you describe your research work in medical informatics to someone who is not familiar with the field?
Katharina Schuler: "In my research, I act as a mediator between doctors and developers to develop application-oriented solutions that can be directly implemented in clinical settings. The focus is always on user-friendliness."
What has been the most exciting realisation, the most surprising result for you so far as part of the junior research group's work?
Maria Zerlik: "For me, it's always exciting and challenging at the same time to familiarise myself with a completely new, complex medical working environment and to understand the work processes."
