The project "EVAluation research based on data from routine clinical care 4 the MII" (EVA4MII) offers counselling for researchers who want to scientifically answer evaluative questions with the help of treatment data from everyday clinical practice.

The counselling platform is a cooperation project between the University Hospital Würzburg (UKW), the University Hospital Jena (UKJ) and the University Hospital Freiburg (UKF). The counselling service focuses in particular on the use of routine data for evaluative research purposes, which are collected as part of the core data set of the Medical Informatics Initiative and applied for via the German Portal for Medical Research Data (FDPG).

The counselling requests are evaluated by the three aforementioned locations and divided up according to the expertise. This means that those seeking advice can contact the experts directly to discuss their research project.

This counselling is intended to improve the quality and informative value of future evaluative research projects. This leads to a more efficient use of data and a greater gain in knowledge. The counselling ranges from the development of the initial research question to the preparation of publications.

Thanks to the close cooperation with the FDPG, EVA4MII is also familiar with the application processes. Other partners of the EVA4MII project are the Network of Coordination Centres for Clinical Studies (KKSN) and the German Network for Health Care Research (DNVF).

EVA4MII will also participate in the further development of further education and training opportunities as part of the baseTraCE project and the MII Academy. This will strengthen the skills of data users and researchers and improve the utilisation of the data.
